WHAT PEOPLE SAY
Lord, President and Mayor Lloyd Fudlegh reflects on what went wrong over his career and life in Utapia - his city.
ASPECT:cinema is an ongoing screening series currently located in Edinburgh, that seeks to engage with architecture in film through a range of material, and encourage discussions surrounding film, architecture, community, environment and sociability. My City was included in ASPECT:Cinema’s 2018 Architecture Fringe event within the evening screening section, titled: Dystopia. The film portrays the city through the eyes of The Journalist, and what he once saw as a bright and industrial city full of opportunities, soon shifts into a dark and dusty place of isolation. The film is dynamic, and My City's shifting visuals warped the viewers sense of reality. The echoing narration from The Journalist coupled with the weaving sound of a single violin kept the viewers immersed within the overall narrative. My City worked really well within the Dystopia screening, and was a well-received addition to ASPECT:Cinema’s 2018 Architecture Fringe event.
